According to a report by CCTV News citing German media on the 10th, German automaker Volkswagen has suspended deliveries of an EV to the US market. A company spokesperson stated that one of the reasons for the suspension was the US's dissatisfaction with the seat width of the car model. However, some media outlets, citing sources within the company, reported that the punitive tariffs imposed by the US government were a significant reason for Volkswagen's suspension of deliveries. Since April, the US has increased tariffs on imported cars manufactured in Europe from the previous 2.5% to 27.5%. According to estimates by investment bank Bernstein, the tariff policy may cost German automakers over 11 billion euros in losses this year.
